Invitation to join AFR’s free Live Lunchtime Talk – Topic “Menopause at Work” – Hosted by Cathy Richardson & ‘This is Alexander Faraday Recruitment’
we would like to invite you to please join us on Friday 29th September from 1pm – 1:45pm, for a highly informative, practical and specific ‘lunchtime live talk’ with Cathy Richardson, Menopause Coach. Cathy had a 30-year career in Global HR and Talent Acquisition and has first-hand experience of going through menopause whilst working hard to sustain a challenging career. Her straightforward and empathetic approach to this challenging topic will give deeper insight into this highly stigmatised subject, answering questions and giving some practical tips on how to move forward.
Menopause is not new, however with our population getting generally older and people working longer before retirement, menopausal women are the fastest growing demographic in the workforce.
Evidence suggests that 10% of women will leave jobs because of their menopausal symptoms. That’s over 5 million highly experienced employees who will retire early or simply resign from organisations. Replacing their skills through recruitment is becoming ever more challenging, and the associated cost of hiring and training is significant. ACAS has also reported a 44% rise in menopause related employment tribunals. There is a very clear case for paying attention to the impact of menopause in the workplace, and putting measures in place to retain and support highly skilled employees during midlife.
